We are back from 01 July 2024. Bookings are open!

The single largest heliski area in New Zealand lies at the heart of the Southern Alps -  the Mount Cook Region

Mount Cook Heliski is professionally guided by Alpine Guides, and flown by The Helicopter Line. We specialise in quality personalised service, away from the crowded Queenstown scene.

Our heliski area is a wilderness of ancient glaciers, azure lakes, and endless runs - across 6 mountain ranges. Mount Cook Heliski has runs to suit all levels of heli-ski ability. We have exclusive terrain in Aoraki Mount Cook National Park.

In 1974 together with Glentanner Station Alpine Guides pioneered helicopter skiing in New Zealand. We fly with small groups and focus on safety and great Kiwi service. We don’t claim to be the biggest, just the best heliski operator in New Zealand.

About Our Guides

The big mountains of the Mount Cook region are a serious place with rapidly changing weather and snow conditions -  and more glaciated runs than anywhere in NZ. The terrain demands the best and most experienced heliski guides in the business.

All of Mount Cook Heliski's guides are professionals. They are either trained and certified to international standards through the NZMGA training program, or meet the requirements of the NZ Heli Operators Group.

They represent decades of experience, in New Zealand and worldwide. Our guides are trained in emergency first aid, mountain survival, and rescue.
